Sunflowers

some of you may know of my love of all things sunflowers.  i'm not sure when or why i started loving them, i just know i have always been facinated by them and they need to move and face the sun.  kansas has fields and fields of them when you take a drive in the summer.  probably my most favorite thing is to pass a sunflower field.

in college, the house i lived in with all my wonderful roommates was called the "Sonflower Patch" because not only did we enjoy sunflowers, we all had chosen to follow the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and make Him Lord of our lives and keep our faces pointing towards Him at times. i can't say there haven't been moments of looking away and failing to follow Him, but every time i drive past a field of sunflowers, i think of not only the flower but also the Son of God and His wonderful sacrifice for my life.  i don't deserve it, and in so many ways i fail Him, but i wanted to post this pix and be reminded of all He's done in order that i might live for Him.  i can only hope i live up to His calling.

i pray, that whenever you see a sunflower, you too are reminded of Jesus Christ's ultimate sacrifice, His death, resurrection and ascension that we may have eternal life with Him because of who He is.
